Victoria & Rowland

Bethany and Eric got married on August 6th, 2011 in the Washington D.C. Temple. I'm grateful for times like this because it is an automatic excuse for a vacation (kind of).

Eric is from Richmond, VA (they met during their Junior yr of HS when Bethany was living in Richmond with Jenn), so his parents hosted an open house for them there the night before, August 5th. We drove up early so that we could enjoy a lunch with Jenn and her family since we don't ever get to them these days (Sarah and her family joined as well). Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of all the children running around the restaurant.

It was a buffet style dinner, and rather enjoyable for those of us that didn't have to do any of the planning for it....thanks McLean's! It was also nice to see most of the fam, and the kids had a ball running around terrorizing everyone and everything.

After the open house was over we drove up to downtown D.C. where we were spending the next two nights. We stayed just blocks from the Capital. I wasn't in the car with Bethany, but I hear it was pretty dramatic (I would hate for her to forget the night before her wedding). I did get to hear some of the near death experiences from Hannah and Heather, as they begged for her to let them drive. I was also able to be there for the aftermath as she had her pre-marriage meltdown at midnight (hopefully enought time has elapsed for her to not kill me).

The next morning we all showed up for the wedding ceremony at the Temple. The most memorable part of their ceremony was that the officiator kept saying Victoria and Rowland, and we all had to remind ourselves that he was referring to the legal names of Bethany and Eric. It just didn't seem right because neither one of them go by those names, so it gave us all a chuckle. Afterwards we "enjoyed" the painful part of picture taking...

After the ceremony and pictures we headed over to an Italian restaurant where we had a catered lunch with immediate family, from both sides. Thankfully we had the entire bottom floor because there was no controlling children running around like crazy monkeys who were let out of their cages.

During the luncheon a few of us snuck out to do the proper protocal of toilet papering the car. The owner of the restaurant was so helping and gave us some supplies as well.

Back to the hotel we went. That evening we headed down to the museums.

The next morning we packed up and headed to the NRA museum. Chris has been wanting to go here for some time, so why not! I dread that our house might one day look like this :)

After the museum we hit up Cafe Rio for lunch....YUMMY! It has finally made it's way from Utah to Virginia. After that - Home! It was definitely one of the least stressful weddings I've been to, and included lots of yummy food. Congratulations Bethany and Eric, or should I start calling you Victoria and Rowland?
