Carson's 5th Birthday Party

Since I'm writing this 6 months after the actual event, I'm sure I'll forget many details.

Carson wanted a pirates party for his 5th birthday, so naturally, I went to town with the theme.  Lucky for him, it fell on the same weekend that Caden was receiving his name blessing.  This allowed for Talia & Will (and Nate) to be there.  It also fell on the same weekend that Erin & Mark went to KS to adopt baby Jaxon, so it allowed for Katie, Marcus & Addy to be there as well.  He was more than thrilled to have all his best friends at his party.  It definitely made for a party, and we didn't even have to invite anyone besides family.

After eating we had a treasure hunt.  There were 4 obstacles that had to be overcome and the pirates received a pirate shape at each stop.  At the end was the treasure.

 Caden took the easy road out and slept through the ENTIRE party.

 We feel so blessed to have Carson with us.  He is a intelligent, funny and energetic little man.  He doesn't like me calling him "baby", "sweetheart" or any other form of the words.  He LOVES his "friends" and getting to play with them.  He shows his artistic abilities through his drawings and has an imagination that astounds us.  He is currently all into money and how he can earn it (growing and selling pumpkins, strawberries, christmas trees).  He even goes so far as to tell me (Flossie) that I should get a job at a store so we could have more of it :) It isn't that he wants to go buy anything in particular, he just likes money and its concept.  He is my rule follower, but also the one who will negotiate and argue a point he feels isn't fair.  He adores his little brothers, and wants to be just like his dad.  We love our Carson!
