For Christmas Eve we went to the grandparents. Here we enjoyed an evening of GREAT food, time spent together, and opening presents.
Granny Carol with 3 (of 4) grandsons, and 2 great-grandsons (& Penguins compliments of Aunt Beth)
Matt...the 4th grandson
Cooper with his Great-Papaw
While others were finishing up dinner Carson decided it was time for presents. He found the large one, meant for him, and started to look into the handle hole. He even got a flashlight to help see better.
Apparently the flashlight didn't do its job, so it was put aside
Carson finally decided it would probably be easiest if he just opened the package
Finally...out comes the tricycle
Once Carson was able to share some of the attention, then patiently waiting Travis was able to open his gift. Carson insisted on being the helper, very envious.

Carson with Granny Carol and Tyler...insisting on helping open his presents as well.

Cooper decided he would just chew the paper off...much easier, and tastier

That night we headed over to "The Parents", where we spent the night. Santa Claus even knew to make the detour over there, instead of our house.
Carson beginning his unwrapping adventure. He was so funny because he would unwrap some paper and then insist on throwing it away before continuing. He was by far the "neatest" unwrapper in history.
Carson received lots of Thomas stuff to add to his collection.
He also received the TAG pen

Finally Cooper woke up and joined the party

Ready, Set, Let's Race...

After a peaceful, relaxing Christmas Eve/Christmas we headed home. It was on our way home that I received the news of the death of my grandfather (Oscar Thomas Dobbs - Jan. 1921-Dec. 25, 2009). This was only the prelude to our Christmas evening. We arrived home only to find that we had no electricity - AGAIN! No fear this time though because Chris got to utilize the generator he had insisted on purchasing with our last power outage. It will definitely go down as a Christmas we'll never forget...good or bad.
